Are you a first home buyer?
If you’re new to the housing market and considering building your first home in NSW, you will be interested to know that there is presently a $15,000 government grant up for grabs. That is, if you purchase in 2015.
First time homebuyers should be aware that state governments are constantly altering their grant schemes, which have already decreased in many states. With this trend set to continue, anyone considering the purchase of their first home should act now if they want to receive the current benefits on offer.
In NSW, purchasers that build their first home for less than $750,000 are eligible for the $15,000 grant. However this grant will decrease to $10,000, effective 1st January 2016. That’s a decrease of $5,000, which is significant when you consider that every penny counts when purchasing your first home.
With budgetary pressures on governments across Australia, there is little doubt that first home buyers in NSW should take full advantage of the grants and stamp duty concessions available in 2015, especially while interest rates are at an all-time low.
With 50 years’ experience helping first time buyers take that step onto the property ladder, we appreciate the magnitude and importance of the decision. That’s why Walker is on hand to guide you through the process and ensure you have all the information to secure the best deal.
