GJ Gardner Award 2016

GJ Gardner Takes Out Prestigious International Award

North Sapphire Beach local builder GJ Gardner has beaten off competition from around the world to take out the prestigious International Display Home of the Year category at the recent G.J. Gardner Homes Awards.

The awards, announced on Hamilton Island late last month, attracted entries from as far away as the United States and Canada.

Award recipients, Rick and Susan Fischer from G.J. Gardner Homes Coffs Coast, said they couldn’t be more proud of their team of Coffs locals who made the win possible.

“Every day our team give 100% to the work that they love and are truly passionate about,” Rick said. “This award would not be possible without the absolute dedication of staff, subbies and suppliers who relentlessly contribute and strive to provide our clients and community with the best possible experience.”

Speaking on behalf of the judging panel, Darren Wallis, CEO of G.J. Gardner Homes, said selecting the winner was no simple matter. “This year was extremely hard to determine the winner as the entries were of such a high standard,” Mr Wallis said. “We congratulate Rick and Susan from Coffs Coast for presenting such a beautiful home that represents that quality and style need not be compromised when building a great value home.”

This latest award comes hot on the heels of Rick and Susan’s success at the NSW Northern Regional Master Builders Awards for Excellence last year where they took out ‘Best Medium Density Project’. That same year the couple also took home the gong for Northern NSW Project Home of the Year and Townhouse/Villa of the Year at the Housing Institute of Australia (HIA) Awards.

“I believe we’re winning these awards because we involve the right professionals right from the start; people who are experts in their field,” Susan said. “We raised the bar with this display home - we wanted to show our clients the little extras that turn an ordinary home into a WOW factor home.”

Having selected a site for their display home at Sapphire Beach, Rick and Susan said they wanted their display home to have a relaxed ‘resort’ feel with just a touch of “The Hamptons.” “After doing a lot of research, consulting with the experts, and giving it a lot of thought, we realised G.J. Gardner’s Stillwater 303 design ticked all our boxes,” Susan said. “With extensive entertaining areas and massive sliding doors that bring the outside in, it’s ideally matched to coastal living.

As a fifth generation builder and born-and-bred local, Rick said he couldn’t be more thrilled to win this award and make his home town proud. “We are 100% passionate about what we do and awards like this prove that in my mind. Also, I acknowledge our families that sometimes go without, and partners that share the ups and downs of what we do daily, thank you!”

The Fischer’s award winning display home is open to the public from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Sunday at 3 Cherry Street, North Sapphire Beach.
